Sofia Ek was born in Sweden but has spent most of her adult life abroad, producing investment reports on Greece, the British Virgin Islands, Libya, and Costa Rica for SmartMoney, a monthly publication of the Wall Street Journal which, in its day, reached over three million of the United States' most influential businesspeople. Sofia holds a bachelor's degree in Media and Communications from Stockholm University as well as a diploma in Media and Advertising from Pace University in New York. The Minefield Girl is her first book; her second-fiction this time-is already in the works. Sofia is married to Spotify founder Daniel Ek. They have two children.
